Maybe the Best Christmas Album Ever Made! Dec 22, 2009
This is one of the greatest CCM albums ever! I found it on the top 100 CCM album list made by critics. I decided to buy it because it and because I knew that Amy Grant has a beautiful voice and I also love her other albums, like "Age to Age" and "Behind the Eyes". This album has lots of great Christmas songs. One of the greatest is defintely "Emmanuel" which is also on one of her collections. It seems like she has an attitude that all the Christians should have. She sounds very happy and sings with a touching, great voice. The songs like "Tennessee Christmas" and "Heirlooms" are just examples you may have heard. This whole album is great! The song "Preiset Dem König" is an instrumental track but it has a great melody, and it is just a perfect intro for "Emmanuel". The closing track "A Mighty Fortress/Angels We Have Heard on High" is also one of my favorites. After Short intro, the actual song starts and Amy sings beautifully through the song. Although Christmas isn't a Christian happening and Jesus wasn't born on Christmas, I can assure that this album has a great message that doesn't depend on season. Jesus has won the power of the devil and is the living king! Hallelujah!

I grew up listening to this as a album, when I was a kid, my mom played it every Christmas. Along with the Christmas album by Evie, whom I love in Christian music as well. The album is full of wonderful tunes of holiday spirit that will stick to you for the rest of your life and catchy tunes that you will be humming long after Christmas is over. My favorite is "Tennessee Christmas" and "Love has come" The singing an arrangement is superb...anyone that say's otherwise, is a scrooge, sorry...my view. There is no superficial singing about the ideas of Christmas, it is of a pure intention of what Christmas really means. She has traditional songs as well, like "Sleigh ride" "Hark the Harold angels sing" "Little Town".."etc"..another twist with a slight rock edge which is the bomb, is "Emmanuel".....love it!!!! A MUST BUY, CHRISTMAS ALBUM---EXCUSE ME CD!!!!!
