Item Description... The Mind of Christ - by T.W. Hunt is a in-depth discipleship study that introduces believers to a lifelong process through which God will renew their minds and their lives to reflect the image of Christ.
This 12-week, in-depth discipleship study based on Philippians 2:5: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus," teaches believers how to think the thoughts of Christ or how to have the mind of Christ. This practical, thoroughly scriptural study includes topics like freedom in Christ, becoming like Christ, the servant mind, the glory of humanity, Christ's conduct among humans, living in the Spirit, the poles of holiness and love, the crucifixion, the resurrection, and the kingdom within. this study shows you how Jesus' mind worked and how the Holy Spirit can teach you to think as He did. This revision is essentially identical to the original version but includes a Leader Guide at the back, so no separate Leader Guide is required.

 | Humility is A Trait of Godliness. Jun 19, 2006 |
This was written under the auspices of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. According to this writer, the greatest battle in history of the universe was the struggle over the human life of Jesus. T. W. Hunt worked at the Baptist Sunday School Board in Nashville, Tennessee, as a prayer specialist.
To be Christ-like, we must humble ourselves by becoming other-directed toward other humans, not self preservation. His example is supreme in humility. Merely saying "Thanks" is not honest humility. Sometimes, it matters more to say "You're welcome." Be on the giving side instead of the receiving end. Anyone can pretend to be humble, which does not include cowardly actions by not facing up to God's teachings. "Who threw the first stone?"
We sometimes get what we aim for through true humility, able to love (1 Cor. 13:4 "Love does not brag and is not arrogant.") Many theologians, especially C. S. (Jack) Lewis, delved into the psyche of Christ, from a former agnostic's view. No one alive now can know for sure "the mind of Christ." We know only what his disciples wrote; Matthew, Mark and Luke kept to t he same story (almost verbatim), but John had a slightly different slant on what the followers of Christ really believed.
The writings of Judas the traitor should show a more accurate account of what really happened at the Last Supper and afterwards and why he betrayed his Lord. Was he the first suicide as Christ's spirit took its vengeance? Who knows? Maybe Mel Gibson -- I refused to see "The Passion of the Christ" in any form. I found "The Di Vinci Code" to be blasphemy as we have no documentation that Jesus had any carnal relations with the other Mary (not the one who cooked for him). | | | | Good Challenge to Be More Like Jesus Dec 23, 2004 |
Hunt has written an excellent book on how God can transform you to become more like Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The book contains 13 chapters comprised of 4 sections:
1. The Mind of Christ. 2. To Be Like Christ. 3. A Name Above Every Name. 4. Now and Forever, Amen.
This is not just another book exhorting the reader to try to live like Christ, but rather allow the Holy Spirit to work through the believer to become more like Christ. There is a difference between the two ways!
Read and enjoy. Highly recommended! | | | Write your own review about Mind Of Christ Workbook (Revised)
