Robin and her husband Dr. Phil are definitely an inspiration for me. They do so much to improve our society.
If you are looking for inspiration in your role as a wife and mother, this book can definitely give it to you. It is rare in this day and age to see people publicly declaring their commitment to family. Lots of people talk about it, but few actually follow through with it.
I thought she could have elaborated more on her faith (this is a key theme throughout the book)...she does mention that she and Dr. Phil attend church, but they give no details on their particular faith. From all appearances, they do seem to have a genuine faith, but for someone who is not a Christian, it would be easy to take away from the book that if you just believe in God that everything will work out okay for you, which is not an accurate assumption. Hopefully, however, her inspiring story will cause unbelievers to seek out a faith for themselves and learn more about what they are missing at a good Bible believing church. I am sure that was her intention, but it would have been nice to hear more of her personal testimony of faith.

| I just finished Robin's book. I will admit I stayed interested in it most of the time and other times I just wanted to finish it. Sometimes I would just read some of the things she said and was left with "huh?" At times I thought she was just a little too good to be true. I would love to have heard more about her boys, there just wasn't a lot there. I really did love the advice she gave one of her sons about a girl, she was very right on with her advice. I don't know if I would recommend this book to any of my friends or not. I definitely won't read it again. She has a good life, that's great. She gets to sit in an audience each day and walk out holding her husband's hand each day. She's really a very lucky woman and very blessed. I think I'll stick to watching Dr. Phil. | What an amazing read! Robin McGraw is an inspirational woman who has so much to give to others. There is so much to be learnt from her experiences in her life. How wonderful that she was able to share these specials moments with other woman. My Husband even read this book after me and commented on what an amazing woman she is how her life has grown from nothing in the beginning to so much to be proud of now. It was one of those books that you start reading and cannot put down until you have completed it. | I found this a light read. I felt Robin held back with regard to her early life, but expressed herself more strongly when it came to her married life with Dr Phil. I admire her capacity to love so generously and to have helped create young men of whom she can be justly proud and I admire her respect for women.
