| I was very disappointed in the content of this book. Too much emphasis is placed on "speaking in tongues". Nowhere in the Word of God does it state that one is not baptized in the Holy Spirit if he/she does not speak in tongues, so the book is misleading in this area. Also, the frequent references to "spiritual climaxes and orgasms" are blasphemous, vulgar, and completely distasteful. Christ does not use such outlandish comparisons when describing the relationship He has with His children--why does Bishop Jakes feel the need to do so? One has to wonder what could possibly possess him to continuously compare a holy, supernatural relationship with Christ to one that can be shared only by mere mortals. If any believer is not shocked and disgusted by these comparisons, I would suggest he/she revisit the issue of his/her salvation. This book will give you a shocking insight into the mind of Bishop T. | I received a Fresh Glimpse of the Dove as a gift after telling a sister about my experience with "speaking in tongues" After reading the book the Lord gave me peace about the gift. Initially I questioned it, then after reading I realized the awesomeness of God. For such a long time I felt like "one of the least of them." I started looking for anything that I could find to read and I began to pray to God to confirm the gift. Needless to say he didn't take long! I am a facilitator for a workshop "Healing for Damaged Emotions", at my church. When we close out the workshop we go on a weekend retreat. When it was time to share I shared from this book everyone was so blessed by the chapter "Reviving What Remains". We realized that brokeness is actually the beginning of the healing process and Reviving What Remains is us letting go and letting God use us to His glory!
